This year, 2022, ESNO celebrated the International Nursing Day annual event. This was the first in a new tradition, held on location in the heart of Brussels ‘Press Club’, and setting an annual tradition for this important day for nurses and healthcare in Europe. This event also marked the launch of the program of the ‘Decade of the Specialist Nurse 2020-2030’, setting concrete steps on the position of the European health care with the added value of the Specialist nurse and nurses in advanced educated roles. During the event, Milka Sokolovic, secretary general of the European Public Health Alliance and Ilaria Giannico Secretary General of the European Union of Private Hospitals gave brilliant speeches, elaborating on the nurse in the future. The program was presented to Maya Mathews, Head of Unit Performance of Health Systems at European Commission and the first copy was handed over by ESNO president, Adriano Friganovic, and concluded with a moment of celebrations.

International Nurses Day is fast approaching and we would like to celebrate it with you via a virtual event on the 12th of May. It is also the Year of the Nurse and the Midwife, so we have a double reason for celebration. Although we cannot meet physically, we must mark this important day. We invite you to join us online and raise a glass with us.
At least 100 nurses from all over Europe will come together during our interactive, virtual event. We will discuss how we can ensure respect, appreciation and support for the nurses, now and forever and make sure the applause continues.
